Step is a fully customizable drum machine, with features designed to make original drum tracks you want to play along with. All Step’s parameters can be controlled directly on the pedal with a straightforward, intuitive user interface. Create complex and evolving patterns using probability, a dynamic drummer by switching up the velocity on eat hit, a sloppy drummer with the humanize, chance and micro-move features, or a perfect robotic machine.
Performance Ready
As a live companion Step can’t be beat. With the ability to stomp-in effects and change songs or patterns via the dedicated stomp-switches, Step is a one stomp solution for all your performance needs.
Smash the FX stomp-switch and create interesting transitions or emphasize a solo. Freely assign over 50 effects in 8 different categories to the FX stompswitch, from repeaters and rearrangers to delays and reverbs.
For even more live control, assign the expression pedal to parameters including tempo or volume.
In Sync
Step is the perfect bandmate, keeping everything in sync. Use Step’s MIDI input and output to stay in time with your delay, start playback at the same time as a looper, and more.
Keep your devices in sync too. Step’s sequences are also compatible with Play and Play+. Create and exchange patterns between grooveboxes and the pedal, in both directions.
