THE STORY
 
The Footprint®02 Gen2 continues the evolution of Barefoot Sound’s acclaimed monitor lineup, delivering the same high-performance DNA as the flagship models in a more compact and accessible form. While the original Footprint®02 carved out its place as the mid-sized solution in the Footprint® series, the Gen2 takes things further with reengineered drivers, updated DSP, and refined cabinet acoustics, all designed to offer stunning accuracy and sonic integrity in smaller studio spaces.

Like its larger sibling, the Footprint®02 Gen2 features a fully tri-amplified 3-way system with dedicated Class D amplification for each driver. A powerful 1-inch dual-ring radiator tweeter, a precision-engineered 5-inch aluminum cone midrange, and dual 6.5-inch aluminum cone Dual-Force™ Technology woofers work together to deliver seamless crossover transitions, improved transient response, and high output with minimal distortion. Each component has been upgraded for enhanced linearity, deeper low-end extension, and sharper midrange clarity, making the Gen2 ideal for mixing, mastering, and immersive setups where space efficiency matters.

At the core of the Footprint®02 Gen2 is Barefoot’s patented SPOC™ (SPectrally Optimized Conversion) Technology, which places analog filtering ahead of digital conversion for improved signal-to-noise ratio, greater resolution, and more transparent high-frequency reproduction. Combined with a new low latency DSP engine, the result is more precise imaging, extended bass, and accurate real-world translation.

The cabinet design has also been refined with increased internal volume, optimized damping, and enhanced rigidity, all housed in the signature sealed MDF enclosure finished in Barefoot’s iconic textured gray coating. This rugged, elegant design ensures clean, tight low-end performance without the artifacts often introduced by ported systems.

The Footprint®02 Gen2 also features Barefoot’s MEME™ (Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation) Technology, enabling you to instantly switch between multiple reference speaker types from consumer speakers to vintage mix cubes without changing your monitoring position.
